Our story

Why 1971

The Italian Chocolate 1971 was founded by Frank Cozzupoli, who was born in 1971. The year stands for the Italian living he grew up with: espresso shared at the bar, long lunches and hospitality expressed through simple gestures. The brand is based in Florence, where each collection is shaped at The Atelier 1971.

His background in architecture and design guides every detail, from flavour balance to packaging: clarity, proportion and restraint.

Small rituals of pleasure, designed to be experienced slowly.

Culinary collaboration

Created with Chef Nouel Catis

Both collections, A Taste of Tuscany and A Taste of Summer, were created with Chef Nouel Catis, internationally recognised for his contemporary approach to chocolate and the original creator behind the Dubai Chocolate phenomenon. Together they shaped a flavour philosophy rooted in balance, texture and modern Italian indulgence, made in Italy.
